Chinese painting mainly focuses on freehand flower and bird paintings, occasionally featuring landscapes and literati figures. Drawing on the essence of calligraphy and painting from predecessors such as Xu Wei, Ba Da Shan Ren, Wu Changshuo, and Qi Baishi, as well as the strengths of contemporary calligraphers and painters such as Wu Yueshi, Guo Shifu, and Fan Cungang, the painting combines poetry, calligraphy, painting, and printing to form a painting style that is characterized by vigorous ink splashing, talent, and ideas. Calligraphy integrates Wei steles into regular script, drawing inspiration from famous Qing dynasty stele scholars such as Zhao Zhiqian, Yu Youren, and Zhang Boying. It is characterized by a free spirited and unrestrained style, with a particular emphasis on the scholarly style of calligraphy.
