Zhang Dadu
Zhang Dadu, styled Dashi. Born in Jilin, Northeast China in 1971, currently residing in Beijing. Qi Baishi is a disciple, a national first-class artist, a national first-class sculptor, and the first person in China's Golden Shrimp.
Graduated from the Chinese Painting Training Class of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, currently a member of China Artists Association, China Arts and Crafts Society, China Jade Carving Association, director of China Painting and Calligraphy Artists Public Welfare Alliance, researcher at Qi Baishi Art Research Institute, certified artist for China Huaxia Painting, Calligraphy, Printing and Carving, and member of China Huaxia Wanli Xingshu Painter Association.
In his early years, he was awarded the titles of painter and art educator Wang Liesheng and Lv Huifu; Under the personal guidance of Professor Zheng Hongbo from Lu Mei and Han Weijing from Liaoning Academy of Painting. After learning from Qi Baishi's disciple Dong Changqing and receiving the true teachings of Dong Lao, he devoted himself to studying Qi style painting techniques, traditional Chinese painting styles, and the techniques of Baishi Lao. Taking nature as his teacher, he created his own light, thin, spiritual, and delicate style in ink painting techniques, and created the Golden Shrimp series themes such as "Dragon Playing in Water" and "Hundred Dragons". His brushwork is old and spicy, with bright colors, concise shapes, and simple artistic conception. His works are full of wit and humor, and he is known as the first person in China's Golden Shrimp. His works have been widely recognized and collected by various sectors of society, and their artistic value has been evaluated by the National Culture Ministry Art Evaluation Committee as 12000-20000 yuan/square foot. He is now one of the leading figures in Qi Baishi's second generation of disciples.
In 2002, "Golden Dragon Playing in Water" was selected for the "16th New Artists and New Works Exhibition" hosted by the China Artists Association;
In 2003, Chinese painting won the Excellent Award at the National Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition 'Entering the Peach Blossom Spring' and was awarded the title of 'Top 100 Chinese Calligraphers and Painters'. In the same year, the Chinese painting' Three Friends of Shuifu 'won the second prize at the' Jiangsu Province Clean Governance Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition ';
In 2005, "Viewing the Sea" won the "Innovation Award" and was awarded the honorary title of "Excellent People's Artist" at the large-scale art event "Spring of the Great River · 5th Contemporary Famous Artists Exhibition" organized by the Ministry of Culture and the China Artists Association;
In 2006, "Three Friends of Shuifu" won the silver medal in the "3rd Beijing Fine Arts Painting and Calligraphy Competition";
In 2007, participated in the "Beijing Goes to Revolutionary Old Areas Creation Team Activity" and his sketches were published in the "Jiangnan Painters Goes to Revolutionary Old Areas Creation Collection";
In August 2008, the "Zhang Dadu Solo Art Exhibition" was successfully held in Lanzhou, Gansu Province;
In October 2009, more than ten solo art exhibitions, including the "Zhang Dadu Calligraphy and Painting Art Exhibition," were successfully held in Tianjin;
Successfully held a solo art exhibition at Songzhuang Art Center in Beijing in 2010;
In 2011, Zhang Dadu held a modern ink painting exhibition at the Gaobeidian Art Exhibition Center in Beijing;
In 2012, a solo exhibition was held at Shichasi Temple in Beijing;
In 2013, a personal art exhibition was held at the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Collectors Association in Beijing;
In 2014, he held a personal art exhibition at the Capital Academy of Fine Arts, and his works were highly favored by numerous cultural and museum institutions, galleries, and auction companies at home and abroad. He has been collected by officials, collectors, and entrepreneurs in countries and regions such as Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. He pioneered the auction of the "Golden Dragon Welcomes Spring Tide" golden shrimp work and sold for 380000 yuan.
In 2015, the Zhang Dadu Modern Ink Painting Exhibition was held at the Guoxin Sports Center in Qingdao, Shandong.
In 2016, the artwork 'Kowloon Welcomes Spring Tide' was exhibited and included in the collection of the Contemporary Art Museum.
In 2017, I participated in the "Wind and Rain Together - Zhang Dadu's Works Exhibition" at the Beijing Santa Lisa International Art Museum, which received a good social response.
In August 2018, the "Zhang Dadu Personal Art Exhibition" was successfully held in Shenzhen.
In October 2019, the "Zhang Dadu Calligraphy and Painting Art Exhibition" was successfully held in Hong Kong, and the artwork "Hundred Dragons Painting Scroll" was auctioned for 980000 RMB;
In 2020, a personal art exhibition was successfully held in Ruili, Yunnan, and the works were collected by Southeast Asian officials and numerous collectors.
