Personal Profile
Personal Profile
In 1969, Xue Yong was born into an ordinary farmer family in Xiazhuang Town, where both parents were hardworking and simple farmers. He was influenced by his uncle since childhood and loved calligraphy. Every time he watched his uncle write couplets with ease and listened to the admiration of his fellow villagers, he became fascinated with calligraphy. He said, "Dip the brush into ink and write on paper. The charm and feeling are difficult to express clearly even now, but it feels very good and has had a very positive impact on my love for calligraphy

After entering middle school, Xue Yong began studying and practicing calligraphy under the guidance of his teacher. At the same time, he subscribed to a large number of calligraphy newspapers and magazines, learned calligraphy theory knowledge, constantly broadened his horizons, and often participated in student art exhibitions. In these exhibitions, Xue Yong was fortunate enough to meet the "Six Masters of Calligraphy and Painting" who were already famous around Ju County at that time. He visited them several times and humbly sought advice from Mr. Cui Zhusheng, Mr. Ren Yingmin, Mr. Wang Yukuan, and others to learn calligraphy skills.

In 1992, Xue Yong, who graduated from middle school, was recruited to Juxian Decoration Company to be responsible for the formulation and copying of regulations due to his calligraphy skills. In that era, computers were not yet fully popularized, and many materials and promotional slogans were handwritten. The busy work made Xue Yong nervous and tired, while also honing his handwriting skills.

Later, the wave of entrepreneurship swept in, and Xue Yong took advantage of the situation and established a cultural and artistic decoration department. But calligraphy art requires creation, brewing, conception, and abundant energy and time. Therefore, in 2003, he decided to give up his decoration company and let someone else run it, specializing in calligraphy art creation himself. That same year, 'Democracy and the Rule of Law'ShandongThe journalist station is recruiting a journalist, and Xue Yong was recruited by the newspaper as a journalist based on his profound writing and calligraphy skills. In his work, he has come into contact with many calligraphers, which has greatly improved his cultural cultivation and calligraphy skills.

As a result, Xue Yong began to study ancient texts in large quantities, even when he went out, he never left his body, chasing after them with his heart and hands, and enjoying them endlessly. He cherishes time like gold, and whenever he has free time, he never leaves his pen. He sits at his desk and diligently studies calligraphy, staying up all night drunk and lost in thought.

Throughout Xue Yong's works, the brushstrokes are light and agile, the strokes are neat and vigorous, although there are subtle details, the bone strength remains undiminished, refined and bold, and the style is self-sufficient, exuding a sense of emptiness and relaxation from the Wei and Jin dynasties. The font is uniform, the proportions are natural, and they respond to each other. It is both elegant and graceful, and the strokes are natural. The strokes are strong and powerful, with appropriate lifting and pressing. The strokes are meticulous, with internal contraction and external expansion, creating a strong sense of tension.
